Our veteran of the week is Denny Fleishood, who flew Mission 18 in April.  He’s seen here with two other Honor Flight Syracuse volunteers at last Saturday’s Poker Run fundraiser in Constantia.   He’s flanked by a new volunteer, Maryrose Tucker and longtime volunteer Phil O’Neil.   Denny served with the Air Force in the Cold War years 1961-1964.  After studying the Russian language at Syracuse University, he was based in Alaska doing voice intercept reconnaissance in the Soviet Union.  He moved to Syracuse from Maryland in 2008, and ever since his experience with Mission 18, Denny says when it comes to Honor Flight Syracuse, “anytime anybody needs any help,” he’s there!  Thanks for that, Denny and thank you for your service.
