Caring For Carson
A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Miller and Sikora families for their generous donation, once again, to Honor Flight Syracuse! $3,659.50 was raised for Honor Flight during their 4th annual Caring for Carson Benefit Ride held at the Mattydale Post 3146 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On December 10, 2019, Carson Sikora lost his life to suicide. His family and friends will never let his memory fade. Emma Miller volunteered with her friend Carson in the Mattydale junior firefighters. When Carson died, Emma came up with the idea of the Caring for Carson ride. With a whole lot of loving help from his mom and dad, and her mom and dad, and a host of others, Emma’s idea has taken root in Central NY.
Not only does this annual event honor a young man’s memory, it provides essential support for Honor Flight Syracuse, as evidenced with that huge check! We are so very grateful.
This year’s Ride raised an equal amount of money for the local chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
