Gary Livent

Livent is a retired professor and university administrator. During the course of his career, he served in a variety of capacities including: professor, dean of students, vice president for community and government relations and chief advancement officer. 

Long active in community service, Livent has served as a trustee for Onondaga Community College, Cazenovia College and the Onondaga Free Library. He was also a member of the board of directors of the United Way of CNY, the Volunteer Center, Elmcrest Children’s Center and the Onondaga Community College Foundation.  

Livent’s involvement with Honor Flight Syracuse began in 2015 as a member of the Philanthropy Committee. He was elected to the Honor Flight Syracuse board of directors 2020. He has had the privilege of being a volunteer on four Honor Flight Syracuse missions. 

His bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees were all awarded by the State University of New York at Buffalo. He resides in Manlius, NY with his wife Karen Bender.
