Oct 5th, 2013: Despite the Government Shutdown-Mission #002 was a Success

Despite the Government shutdown and closure of some DC memorials, Mission #002 succeeded in taking 64 WW-II and Korean War veterans to visit their memorials in D.C.

CONGRATULATIONS and our most heartfelt THANKS go out to all those HFS Staff and Volunteers who worked so hard to make this flight a rousing success!  Well done!

Unfortunately veterans cannot choose what flight they will travel on due to medical and logistic issues associated with the flight process. We also encourage veterans from the Rochester and Buffalo area's to visit and register with their local Honor Flight hubs before registering with Syracuse Honor Flight.
