Veterans Leadership Council and Raynham Fitness Center Host 5K fundraiser

The Veterans Leadership Council partnered with the Raynham Fitness Center to host a 5K fundraiser to benefit the next Honor Flight Mission out of Syracuse, NY in October 2014.

“Today, I had the privilege of presenting a check to the Vice President of Honor Flight Syracuse, John Paddock, for the proceeds donated as a result of the VLC- Raynham 5K Run fundraiser.  As you know, Honor Flight was formed to transport veterans at no cost to them to Washington DC to visit memorials dedicated to honor their many sacrifices. The money raised by the Raynham VLC will be used to support Mission #4 which is scheduled to take over 130 veterans and guardians to Washington DC on October 4th, 2014. As a volunteer for the Syracuse Honor Flight I can tell you that everyone was extremely grateful for the donations made by our colleagues in Raynham. The donation was a tremendous example of selfless service to our communities!”

Unfortunately veterans cannot choose what flight they will travel on due to medical and logistic issues associated with the flight process. We also encourage veterans from the Rochester and Buffalo area's to visit and register with their local Honor Flight hubs before registering with Syracuse Honor Flight.
