Glynn English – Veteran for the Week

Our Veteran of the Week is Glynn English, a Vietnam veteran and alumni of Mission 18 in April.  The Jordan, NY resident volunteered to serve in the Marine Corps from 1966-70 and the Army from 1971 until his military retirement in 1987. He saw action during both of his tours in Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts.   He’s a retired pastor of the United Methodist Church and still ministers to congregations on a regular basis.  This summer, Glynn’s Vacation Bible School was given its own mission:  to raise money for Honor Flight Syracuse!   Two separate churches responded big-time to Glynn’s appeal.  Right now, they’re tallying up the generosity spurred on by this veteran’s example of service.  Check back right here on Wednesday to learn just how much the VBS kids and their congregations raised to help send more veterans to Washington.  To hear Glynn’s full story, listen to his interview here with Dan Cummings on WCNY Community FM.
