Honor Flight Syracuse wants to thank each and every one of you who braved steady April showers to donate your bottles and cans. Those April showers may bring May flowers, but on that last weekend in April THIS year, your generous donations brought Honor Flight Syracuse a whopping $17,500 dollars to send more veterans to Washington! That total includes $1,400 in cash donations that individuals handed to us that weekend! On Saturday and Sunday, we filled 3 tractor-trailers with bags full of your returnables! On top of the nickel deposit that YOU donated, TOMRA, a worldwide leader in recycling, added a penny for each bottle and can. That 6 cents per container really adds up! TOMRA, thank you for stepping up once again to partner with us. We also want to thank Destiny USA for helping to let everyone know about the fundraiser, and for the use of that corner parking lot all weekend. And, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the dozens of volunteers who gave up their weekend to accept your donations and fill those trailers! We depend entirely on private donations to make the Honor Flight missions happen. The April bottle and can drive was HUGE!
