”Honor Everywhere” touches the heart

Sometimes, veterans are unable to make the flight to Washington for health reasons. That’s where “Honor Everywhere” steps in with a special presentation at Hancock Airport on Mission day. Below is a note we received from an “Honor Everywhere” veteran after Mission 22.

“A note to say thank you, for all you accomplished on my behalf.  I was deeply touched by the multitude of strangers who showed up to welcome me and the other veterans back home.  It was dramatically different than the last return trip for me.  Please give my thanks to Patty Smarzo, my attendant, as I was probably difficult to control 🙂

The program was exceptional, and I regret not being able to fly out.  The Everywhere program is just right for us damaged veterans, the long day away would be too much.  To Diane, special thanks for your warmth on meeting me, I only wish I could be as gracious as you when meeting strangers.  I fear our (veterans) skepticism was hard won, decades ago, in a place far away.  I am happy to be home at last.

Thank you.

Respectfully,
