”Honor Everywhere” visits Elderwood in Liverpool

An untold number of our veterans now make their home in local long-term care facilities. Because they may be unable to join an Honor Flight Mission to Washington, we make every effort to bring the mission to them. “Honor Everywhere” meets veterans where they are, to shower them with the respect and honor they so richly deserve. On January 22, Honor Flight Syracuse’s Diane GreenPope led an “Honor Everywhere” gathering for 23 veterans at Elderwood at Liverpool. Elderwood’s memory care program specialist Kim Amidon reached out to us with the invitation and we are so glad she did. Each veteran received a hand-made quilt and thank-you cards and letters from children. We want to thank Kim, Elderwood’s Director of Activities Kristen Daley and Administrator Brandon Johnson, a veteran himself, for allowing us to salute these American heroes!
